Description

This is the second piece I had the honor of having on Exhibition in 2023. Picked this piece up through the Cartoon Art Museum's third biennial Tribute auction - The Rocketeer: A Tribute to Dave Stevens. The piece was exhibited at the Museum from June 11 to September 3, 2023. The auction and exhibition was organized in conjunction with The Rocketeer Trust and Dave's sister Jennifer Stevens-Bawcum.

I saw this piece in preview and immediately tagged it as one to chase when the auctions came. Come auction time at the last minute I just about lost it a few times as bidding went heavy fast. Turns out later I found out from Jennifer I was bidding against her on it! While I don't intend to let loose of the piece, if ever I do - she gets dibs no questions asked!
