Animal Lad by Marco�Santucci and Simon Gough

Way back in Adventure Comics #331, Animal Lad aka�Ennis Janhson attended tryouts for membership in the Legion of Super-Heroes. Unfortunately,�he auditioned at the worst time possible, because the Legion had been taken over by the evil Dynamo Boy. Ennis was found to be honorable and incorruptible, so Dynamo�Boy rejected him for membership. So instead, Animal Lad used his abilities to transform humans into animals and animals into humans to become the Central Director for Endangered Species Control at the Metropolis Game Preserve. Many years later, Animal Lad appeared again as a member of the Legion of Substitute Heroes! Unfortunately, Ennis has somehow become stuck between a lion and human form, but the Subs don't judge! I loved this new look for Ennis when I saw it, so I reached out to the�artist who designed it, Marco Santucci, to draw him for me!�I like how the suit is similar to the New 52 Superman design, but with the lion head it resembles the old Silver Age story where Superman himself was turned into a lion man! And Marco is an amazing artist who quickly delivered this gorgeous commission! The cape, the tones, the lion face, it's all beautiful! Thanks, Marco!

Lots of spiritual symbolism in this as well with the mix of Lions and Superman!
