Description

This amazing work from Tim in LoTDK (1992) preceded his Bat-centric collaborations with Jeph Loeb, which began the following year with the first Halloween special (1993). I loved everything about these pages, as Alfred laments Bruce's life choices in the batcave before he swings off to meet Gordon on the GCPD rooftop.

I think I might have seen the winner of the best dps in next year's Best of 2024 poll. I was way down the list of underbidders when this was on eBay and then Heritage but I am grateful to be able to view it without having the stress of owning such a valuable piece of art. Congrats!

It's around this time when Sale was separating himself from the pack being recognized for his distinct style that brought the crime noir storylines back into Batman. If only he could find a writer that could write to his strengths...

The inferior panel sequence it's awesome. Batman and Commissioner Gordon at the roof with the Bat signal. It can't be better.
