Description

This commission gallery addition is only the second one from a self-proclaimed "Bob Almond #1 fan", Garrison Davis who I finally met years back at Heroes Con. In this case he approached me to ask Sal about interpreting an obscure Marvel Wakandan character from the Peter Gillis/Denys Cowan/Sam De LaRosa Black Panther 4-issue miniseries, Malaika. She's a veteran Wakandan spy that Gary appreciated and he even drew up a sketch or two of his own interpretation. But he was disappointed that no one else ever carried forward the story of her in forty years. Sal drew the redesigned character with her weapons on 8.5"x11" board and he added a color background. I inked the work and completed it by 2/26/2021. For those interested, this is my 67th time inking Sal outside of published assignments (commissions/con sketches/sketchcovers/recreations, etc.).
