Description

For this commission I was inking a sequential page with the Archie/Red Circle/MLJ/Impact comicsverse of characters known collectively as The Crusaders for Damon Owens'. "Dead Universe Project"-themed gallery. It's my 108th Damon job and 3rd time inking the digital pencils of Dario Carrasco Jr. This is the Crusaders 2nd appearance in my gallery, having previously appeared in Damon's "Omniverse: End of Days" commission by Val Semeiks. Referring to panel 2, from L-R, they are Doc Reeves, Darkling, Fly Girl, the Shield, Jaguar, the Fly, the Web and Black Hood cropped on the right. The composition of the page was a reinterpretation of an original published page as supplied by Damon. It was a challenging page for me but all that matters is that the client absolutely loves it! It was printed up as a blueline on 11"x17" Kubert 2-ply board and inked with my Kuretake and other markers. This was completed January 7, 2022.

Just a note: The Crusaders inked on the Val Semeiks "End of Days" commission were the Impact Comics version from the 90s. This page features the Archie/Red Circle original team. Dario and Bob did a bang-up job on this one!
