Description
In the fall of 1977, I was seven years old. I have read that seven is the "golden age" for your favorite, most nostalgic things--toys, tv, comics, movies, etc. I grew up on a small farm and collected pig stuff. Then I had to write an animal report for school, and I chose the coolest, most outrageous porcine animal I could find--the warthog. I told and tell people that it was my "favorite" animal. After that I was looking at the local flea market for comic books to purchase. My favorites at the time were Avengers, Thor, and Ironman. I did not regularly purchase Spider-Man, but then I saw a cover with a character with a warthog on his head. This hero appeared in Spectacular Spider-Man 13-15. He was called Razorback, but it definitely looked like a warthog. To this seven year old, Razorback was the best and coolest hero to come out in the '70s. Not Wolverine or Punisher--Razorback. When I got more interested in obtaining commission, I thought it would be fun to see different versions of some artists doing Razorback. Little did I know that I would not stop seeking out different versions of my "favorite" character after some 25 years!
