That is my favorite Wonder Man costume. Too bad it had such a short lifespan!
Jim was nice enough to do another warm-up sketch of Stiltman for me!
Great guy!
It was great running into you on Saturday!

Thanks! I loved Hardman's stuff. I went to that con a couple of times. I live in Berks County. Was that called Super Show?

It struck me as I read the news about Karl Moline that this commission he had done for me was done in a saddened, almost mournful pose.
Hello,
Now is your name Newell and that sparked an interest in Stingray, or is your username a tribute to Walter?

Thanks, Henry. Yes, I have been fortunate to purchase several pages from this book. It was one of my favorite in the series. I am a big Wildcat fan, and I loved the way he tackled the bad guys one-by-one to win the day.

I think that is Robert Frank, the Whizzer, in civilian clothes.
Tom said when I purchased it that he liked how that panel turned out.
I thought he used a wash, but he said that he used a soft pencil! Lots of work on these pages!
That is the reason I bought it! I don't know any big Cyclone fans, but that wind effect is amazing!
That is cool that you got to meet him in that way! Do you know if Jeff has been selling off some things? I have noticed a strong increase in Jeff Aclin "English" pages of Marvel art recently. Is it coming from him?
I saw it on Mike Burkey's site several years ago, but I did not make a play for it immediately and it was gone. Then years later he got it back in trade. I thought I can't not try to get it again! Numerous art trades and many pieces to auction later I paid him off at a NYCC. I released about 80 pieces back into the wild to get this one!
I was lucky enough to find his one-page appearance in issue 4 and his one-page appearance in issue 5!
Yes, this is the go-to image for google or yahoo image searches on Razorback! I was fortunate to find this on ebay many years ago.
No, I picked it up off a dealer on Ebay. I bid on another opening page with Razorback by Jeff Aclin on Heritage recently, but it went too high for me. I was surprised someone else wanted it as much as I did.
Fun story--I had worked my way up to second in line to have Jim sign my Marvel Universe: The End page which had Wonder Man on it. Jim was not doing any sketches. It was when he was dealing with his hand injury. Jim was collecting donations for Hero's Initiative, and he was trying to encourage people to give more. He had a bucket out and said, "Let's get a $20 in here." He asked the person in front of me, "If I draw a quick sketch for you, will you put $20 in the bucket?" That person hesitated, and Jim asked me the same question. I immediately said, "Sure," and asked for Wonder Man. Wonder Man is a favorite of mine, and he was the first one I thought of since I had a reference in my hand! I talked to Jim years later, and he did not recall the incident. He did say, "I was not drawing then."
Thanks! Monarch used his chronal powers to age the JSA to their "real" ages!
Thanks! The ink wash that Tom used on these pages make them beautiful in black and white!
Actually I can't take credit. I told him I love the JSA/Earth-2 characters and asked who he would like to draw for me. He said, "Liberty Belle," and I said sure. I love how it turned out.
Thanks for all the comments when I add. I accidently put Kryssing on this one, but it was inked by John Dell. Sorry about that!
I agree. I just had Gene sign this at Baltimore Comic Con. He really thinks his work through. He commented that, as it was the Golden Age time period, he drew it as if their costumes were appropriate for the period and did not fit perfectly like with superhero movie costumes of the time.
I love the amazing randomness of this pin-up!
Michael,
I feel the same way. I loved this What if as a kid, and I really enjoyed the various Agents of Atlas runs as an adult. Thanks!

I read the story on someone else's account. He had commissioned it, but Bob Hall accidently drew it on a smaller size paper. Bob corrected his mistake and redrew the pose. Bob then put this one out for sale, so it all worked out great for me! There are actually two of these out there.
