BRZRKR Blank Cover Sketch

Getting a sketch of Unute (aka B, the main character of BRZRKR) from Ron Garney has been on my radar for quite some time. This last year, I've tried to stay away from Blank Cover Sketches, WHILE art paper has become my go-to. Sometimes, you just take what you can get! I think I really lucked out grabbing this from eBay. This piece was done by Ron Garney during the weekend of September 23-25, 2023 at Rose City Comic-Con in Portland, Oregon.

Ron Garney brought this piece to life with pencils, ink, and white-out! The details he added into this piece are mind-blowing! A lot of artists seem to struggle with Colored & Black Blank Sketch Covers. Ron took this Red Blank and ran straight to the bank with it! I love how he used white-out to make B's eyes glow and the effects of lightning and it reflecting throughout. The stone carved axe and sword are glorious. If you look closely, you'll see that Garney even added the buffalo skin loin cloth to B.
