Description
I am adding this piece as it connects with the War of Kings story line that crosses over into Guardians of the Galaxy (Volume 2). Like many other pieces in this collection, it was written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning.

This page shows Gladiator and the Shi'ar Imperial Guard, moping the floor of the Nova Corps. Corrupted by Ego, the Worldmind hastily conscripted inexperienced Nova Corps recruits from earth to assist in the Kree-Shi'ar war. They quickly turn into cannon fodder at the hands of the Shi'ar.

Here you have the new Nova Corps, in Kree territory, at Nil-Rast. Their losses are astounding, as later evidenced by the piles of Nova Corps helmets.

A dark shadow is inked over Gladiator. A very fitting sentiment as he splits a new recruit in two.

Rad is acceptable!!! I also accept tubular, badass, gnarly, awesome, cool, and tight. As a Northern Californian, adding Hella at the beginning of any elated expression is also deemed appropriate. Anything beyond tight I am now classifying in my kids category and am thus no longer accepting. Especially if it is expressed with a Dab.

See the Marvel for the cosmic now,
My, oh my,
Blasting everybody, oh, just wow
To give their lives.
Sliding down the fight formation highway,
Flying Nil-Rast like a bunch of fools.
Time is ticking, and Di Vito's back,
My, oh my.

What about Worldmind says?
What about the place that Kree call home?
Weak Nova been so many,
And we've never been
So alone.

Kree watching from your picket fence,
You keep talking, Ego makes no sense!
You say we'll not respond Ego,
But Shi'ar.
Shi'ar.
You washed your hands,
You come out clean,
But fail to recognize the enemy's Lanning!
You say Abnett's responsible,
But Shi'ar.
Shi'ar.
Nova.

Pun accepted. Thanks Miki. Kind of reminds me of Homelander from The Boys a bit.

Nice pair of pages, Ian. The black are used very effectively.

Gotta love the correlating uneven panel layout as you move down...absolutely ups the sense of movement and action going across each one.  Not that you need much with the illustration in-panel!  Love the zooming shadowed Gladiator.  Super effective.  Congrats!
