Incredible piece by Hempel! The curvy design for the cape and the Batman logo are very much of the time, but the theme patrolling at night and his washtone art are timeless.
What's interesting to me is what one notices when putting Hempel's works from different eras side by side. How as the style evolves, some elements keep reappering, like his way with the curvy lines. [He's my favourite visual artist so I stare at his stuff a lot.. =) ]
The free flowing font is right in sync with the cowl and cape. Really nice!
Oh absolutely. Marc's clearly always had a way with his curves and his angles. =)
