The Ren & Stimpy Show

I was such a fan of Ren & Stimpy when it first aired on Nickelodeon back in the 90's. There wasn't anything like it at the time, and I don't think there has been since (possibly Spongebob?). Other than the classic Warner Bros. and Disney cartoons, shows like The Simpsons, Rocko's Modern Life, Beavis and Butthead, and Ren & Stimpy really made me appreciate animation as I was growing up. They are wonderful examples of how different animation could be.

I reached out to Spugna for a color commission and I thought his comic art/cartoonist style would be a perfect fit for the subject. Safe to say, he did not disappoint! He really knocked this out of the park, successfully capturing the design of the characters with eye popping color! He also incorporated his own name into the Spümco logo and it is glorious. There is just enough of his own style in the piece there as well. The end result is a load of fun with good ol' Muddy Mudskipper front and center!
