DescriptionIn 1997, Marvel did a "Flashback" event to tell stories that took place before issue 1.So they numbered the issues "-1", which screws up numbering and storage and research and such. I'll be honest here... at the time, I wasn't a big fan of Ron Garney's version of the Surfer but I loved the page. But once I got the piece in my hands and I saw it "live", I flipped and became a Garney-Wiacek fan. This page became a favorite. Social/Sharing |

He's got a little bit of the Moebius Silver Surfer vibe going on there. He almost treats the 'skin' of the Surfer like a topographical map in the last panel. I like it.
I actually wrote to Marvel complaining about the quality of the Moebius miniseries, and they wrote back to me saying they agreed. They claimed they fell victim to a terrible printing job.
