Pistolero - Issue 62 (cover art)

Another favorite of mine from Rafael Gallur's cover work on the Pistolero series, this one features the title character Joe and a lovely lady barely escaping danger (and once again, she's decked out in heels and earrings). I always find it interesting to see how different artists tackle explosions. This one hits that perfect balance of catching the kinetic power of the event with just the right amount of detail.

Oftentimes with painted artwork the original pencils are lost behind the gouache, but here you can still see some of Gallur's original penciled layout for the piece.
