DescriptionSecond piece posted in 2024 by Nate! I bought some other work from him, and he was nice enough to throw in a commission for me. At the time I had recently checked a box on the collector list by picking up a page from What If? #31 (What If Spider-Man Had Kept His Cosmic Powers? - https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1943252), one of my fave single issues as a youngster, so that Spidey look was top of mind. Nate’s done a lot of Spidey stuff and I asked if he’d ever done the Cosmic version, and he said no, so that was it!I didn’t see the piece ahead of time so was stoked when I opened up the package. This look is essentially Captain Universe with the only difference being Spidey’s original mask covering the mouth area – I always thought it was neat how that was the only difference, but that little pop of red webbing let you know immediately that this was Spidey. What I like most with this piece is the black-with-stars (“BWS” you often see in pencil page notes :)) part of the costume with the blue colored over it to differentiate musculature and lighting. Cool stuff, and you can see the brush strokes as he swiped up when applying! Very nice, indeed. Thanks, Nate! Social/Sharing |

Our whole Universe was in Spider sense state
Then nearly fourteen billion pieces ago I posted Stockman, Nate
This work is just so cool, the artwork fans began to drool
New commission developed tools
Webs built to crawl (What If? experiment)
Math, science, cosmic dream, unraveling box mysteries
That all started with the big fan (fan)

That one just rolled! And yes, was eagerly to see what Nate had done, and he did not disappoint.
Thanks, Marcus, and all, for the comments!

These colors pop! If this isn't already on a wall, it needs framed ASAP!
