Description

Nice lines by Gordon Frederick Browne. An illustration from a French Foreign Legion story. Circa 1900. I've enjoyed seeing examples of his work. Happy to have this. It puts me in mind of John Severin's EC work.

Really intense moment in a battle full of chaos and maiming! It's to show how messed up war is and how the battlefield is not for the faint of heart.

The unforgiving nature of the battlefield is certainly on full display here. So many promising futures end there.
