Description
Obviously a huge fan of Lee Weeks, especially his Hulk. I had missed out on this piece before and luckily saw it pop up as available via one of the b/s/t groups so immediately jumped on it. Thunderbolt Ross has always been a presence (and nuisance) in Hulk's life and this image perfectly captures it. The cover for this annual was on auction roughly around the same time but that quickly moved out of my budget - thrilled to pick this up as a 'consolation'. Thanks again Paul!

THIS is a "consolation" piece? Holy shit, I can't imagine what your main targets must look like! 🤣 I owned and sold the cover to this issue back when it was worth around a whopping $1,800! The good ol' days, am I right?

Haha absolutely - good ol' days indeed! That previous price tag is a gut punch for me... must've been excruciating to see, Ruben.

Great take on a classic Kirby image.  Jansons inks pair exceptionally well with Weeks' strong sense of storytelling and laying emotions out raw in the open.

Perfect Hulk page by Weeks.

(But Janson may have inked it instead of Green? ;)

Week Hulk is a giant hole in my collection. Wow, what an example! That top panel that is Cover Worthy, and then the transformation below. What more could anyone want? Congrats!

So much talent on this page with Weeks and Janson. That top image is so iconic and a perfect example of Lee's work. Major congrats and a bit of envy on this one. Congrats TC!

Yeah, that top panel is worth the price of admission alone.  Weeks tells a story with a one-panel scene like few others.  Congrats!

Wow! Love that top panel with the Hulk and General Ross! Gogeous Hulk by Lee Weeks--He has a great sense of how to draw Hulk and I always enjoy his drawings of him. And what great addition to have a closeup of General Ross--Hulk's nemesis since day one--on the same page. The two of them have butted heads ever since Hulk first appeared! Lee Weeks is one of the best Hulk artists out there and This is a great example of his work! Fantastic pick-up, congrats!
