DescriptionA recreation - but of a cover which was never actually published.Back in 1969, Roy Thomas wrote, and Dan Adkins drew, a story for Marvel Super-Heroes #21 featuring a new science fiction character, Starhawk - but Martin Goodman spiked it at the last minute, apparently saying that "rockets, robots and ray-guns don't sell". The cover artwork was later used on the front of Marvelmania #3, and a few of the surviving pages appeared in Marvelmania #6, but the cover as it was intended has never appeared --- so I asked Bambos Georgiou if he could recreate it for me, using the Marvelmania cover art, the logo from one of the inside pages, the Marvel Super-Heroes design from issue #20 (with the number and date amended), and the corner-box figure lifted from the "next issue" advert in issue #20. I can't speak for anyone else, but if this had been published, I'd have bought it without a second thought! Social/Sharing |

Very compelling design with the hero on the run! A late 60's styled cover defined by bold action!
