Description
"ABOUT MAKING ART IN COLUMBIA" by Carlos Dearmas

Autobiographical art from May 2021. This was a piece Dearmas drew to capture how he felt during the pandemic as an artist trying to work in the midst of death.

I was taken back by this heartfelt/heart-wrenching piece capturing a moment in time. I'm still blown away by the detail and emotion in this piece.

That's a hell of a lot of death that was happening all around him at the time. Adding in the two vultures really puts a stamp on it!

Extremely moving piece. I'm such a fan of his detail and this is packed with it, but it's also packed with so much emotion. Outstanding.

Beautiful and scary at the same time! Has a real Gustav Dore feel to it. Congrats!!

Totally! Good call on the Doré influence.

I'm completely unfamiliar with Carlos Deadman, but now I'll be on the lookout.

Dearmas leaves nothing out in this heartfelt expression. Very powerful.

It captures the fear and claustrophobia of the times.

I like how you kinda gotta look closely to make everything out in the shadows...cool effect!  Congrats!
