Legs Weaver #77 (2002) pages 50: Legs meets the Mutants

This issue has a strong A-plot/B-plot structure, as Legs Weaver pursues diplomatic relations with a hitherto unknown race of amphibian mutants, and her partner May Frayn fights water and bad guys in a submerged hotel.

“Here we go, Legs. This is mutant beach.”

“Maybe, but I don't see a soul.”

“They will come. I activated the usual signal, and this is where typically meet.”

“Yeah, I should have guessed... apparently, you're one of the family.”

“It's true... Norton is more than a friend! This is Frysia and my name is Doan. Since you are here with Norton, you must come on behalf of the Grand Hotel.”

“Yes, my name is Legs. Let's say that I am a kind of ambassador, and I confess that I expected a very different welcome. I'm happy I was wrong.”

The mutants are apparently both amphibians and mammals. Hey, it could happen! I wonder whether Doan has difficulty swimming in his priestly vestments.
