Nick was originally drafted into the 66th Infantry Division, where he redesigned their shoulder patch. Later, Nick was transferred to the Third Armored Division as a tank driver. This is fantastic. Nick had a true gift for depicting the subtle nuances in the world around him. Thanks for posting. I was thinking about him just the other day.

Still an artist at heart when called upon to serve! Cardy must have kept this scene in his mind as it made a great impact in his life and character.
