Description

Simone DiMeo is an exciting and dynamic artist. I was instantly on board when I saw his forced perspective compositions and the cinematic focus in his illustrations. I thought for sure he was a purely digital artist but was pleased to learn his work is primarily traditional. I had the pleasure of meeting him at OAX2024 and he agreed to do this cover quality commission for me. Thanks so much to Matt at DiTullio Art Collective for making this happen and Simone for an amazing commission!

Bullets and pearls in the classic Batman manner! The image is immersive with the heroic up angle and our heroes flying toward the viewer!

I had a brief chat with Simone at OAX as well, and it still boggles my mind that this is all done by hand and not digital. This commission turned out great, so congrats!

Heroic upward perspective shot, and the tonal work! Di Meo is a singular voice...killer example of that here. Congrats!

I wasn't sure how Di Meo's style would work with the gritty Dark Knight Returns. But this is gorgeous! The tumbling falling pearls and bullets bring it to another level.
