Description

Here is an extreme rarity: a 1970's full-figure Thanos pinup piece, by the creator himself, Jim Starlin. Done on a piece of art paper measuring approximately 10 1/2" by 14 1/4", it looks to me like a mix of pencil, ballpoint pen, and marker (you can see near the bottom it looks like the marker has discolored slightly, as it tends to do with age). This is a stunning full-figured Thanos, crouching down, apparently on a mountain top. A truly rare Thanos '70's pin-up, from the decade when Thanos and Drax made their first appearance in Iron Man #55, and Starlin launched his classic cosmic Captain Marvel and Warlock storylines, which ultimately led decades later to the blockbuster Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame movies based on Infinity Gauntlet. We usually only see smaller headshots of this character, and almost never see pieces of this vintage, so a full-figure straight-on pinup image of this quality and from this time period, is spectacularly awesome. This is a truly magnificent piece for any fan of this character and his creator, and would look fantastic framed and prominently displayed.
