Description
From the pages of LEGION OF X #9 (A VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS) comes this dynamic work of Si Spurrier’s story told through Netho Diaz art.

This semi-splash page features Professor Charles Xavier visiting his son David Haller (Legion) in his dream dimension, the Altar, and planting a virus that will later come into play to help keep Legion down in case he gets too powerful. The visit is a surprise to Legion as their father/son relationship is very strained. We also see the dream spirit essence of Blindfold being protective of her lover, Legion. This series is chock full of familial relationships that come in so many varieties; Nightcrawler with his adopted mother (Margali Szardos), Xavier with his son Legion, Black Knight coming into her father’s power and position, Blindfold and her partner Legion, Doug and his made family Krakoa and Warlock, goddess Mother Righteous and her mutant follows to name some. The relationships all come to head as the series’s begins to close.

The art in this page is fantastic, it’s my representative splashy page of Xavier coming through a Krakoan Gate portal. I am really enjoying Diaz’s art, he knows how to construct a panel page, give you some room for some great splashy imagery and tell the storytelling without the necessary dialogue. I’ve been able to get a few of his pages from the series and the more I look at the details the more I am glad to have gotten the work while it’s still affordable, if anything I wish to have gotten more of it.

Another really fun page with some great history that leads to the downfall of the Krakoan era (by putting a virus onto Legion that unfortunately takes this great powerhouse out of service for when he is needed most when Orchis/Nimrod invades, see my more seeds of destruction planted in issue #7 pg 16 from my gallery). And art featuring more of the X-Men familial ties in this grandiose soap-opera are perfect for my collection.

nice father and son moments. solid looking pencils! Xavier and Legion look great. i need to catch up soon on some of these newer X series from 23 and 24, got into the Krakoa era with Hickman for the first few years of it but hit pause somewhere along the way but I do enjoy ambitious storytelling

Love the ref to the House of X #1 cover. The Altar was an interesting idea and a very cool visual. Great soap opera family moment here too!

Clean pencil work, no doubt!  I get why it's your representative Xavier shot.  And yes, Paco's underrated IMO.  Congrats!

Professor X is a Jerk!  I like how Diaz folows up the big panel with a skinny tall second panel as it is the delayed establishing shot.
