DescriptionADVENTURES OF THE FLY # 7 changed my life. The Fly, able to mimic the natural abilities of all manner of insect life, captured the imagination of his 10-year-old reader and turned him into a life-long comic collector. By chance, this issue also featured a guest-star -- The Black Hood! Although The Hood had no special powers or abilities, the yellow-and-black-garbed Man of Mystery also enthralled me. While I have enjoyed the adventures of a multitude of super-heroes over the past six-and-a-half decades, The Fly and The Black Hood have always remained favorites.In recent years, I have focused much of my attention on collecting original Fly and Black Hood art. 2024 has been especially good to me, as I have been able to acquire two complete stories featuring each character. I am delighted to share with fellow CAF members the 12-page Black Hood story from MIGHTY COMICS # 44. I chose to attach comments to this specific page because it is by far the best page in the story and one of the best Hood pages ever! Four panels, four great images of The Man of Mystery in action! The bottom left panel is AWESOME! Paul Reinman art at its best!! Story/script is by Jerry Siegel, and inks are by Frank Giacoia and Joe Giella. Social/Sharing |
