Description
Floyd doesn't @#$% around when it comes to his kid.

Deadshot #1 and #2 were foundational Spinner Rack comic books I grabbed from a Quick Stop that was a few stores down from where my Mom would go to get her nails done. So I would usually be given a few bucks to grab some comics.

Batman being on the Cover of #1 helped and I managed to find #2 the next time I went. The other issues I found later at Comic Specialty Shops. I always thought Deadshot's wrist guns were so cool.

The mood of the piece generated by the shadowy inks really gave the book an 'adult' weight as 10 year old kid. And there's nothing more satisfying than seeing a smug, self-assured dip$#%^ turn into a cowardly, craven dip$#^&

I love how graphic McDonnell feels on this page, Great comic book work, good energy, rhythm and mood. Artistry with a nod to Toth. Also Brian Stelfreeze may have based his comic style on this art as well. Great page Derek.

Luke McDonnell is the man! I remember reading this issue (along with a stack of Suicide Squad issues) on a family vacation many, many years ago. McDonnell's storytelling skills are second-to-none!

How can it be? Luke and me
Might be meant to be, can't unsee it
But Luke McDonald draws a scene
I'll usually shoot an automatic
So independent
Tell me why
'Cause the Floyd is mine, mine

Somethin' about him is Schale to somebody like me
Baby, come over, come over (over)
Deadshot knows I'm tryin', but there's just two wrists in defying

The Floyd is line
I can't wait to try him
Le-let's get kid of mine
The shots, they aligned
The Floyd in crime
Watch me take my time
I can't believe my mind
The Floyd is divine
Floyd is mine

Fun mini-series and I thought that McDonnell's art was a bit of an homage to Giffen's thicker, chunkier line style at the time. I really enjoyed it and his ability to do high contrast lighting is really nice as well!
