Thor New Costume Design Approval Piece Ron Frenz 1991

This is a very special one for me.

This is the third or fourth drawing ever done of the "new" costume for the Eric Masterson Thor, months before it was introduced in Thor 433 in 1991.

This piece was made by Ron Frenz, inked with markers and colored with colored pencils.

It was to show the new design to Tom DeFalco and editor Ralph Macchio after Ron and Brett Breeding came up with the design together.

The corner box art used in 433 and beyond was another piece made later, that was inked by Brett Breeding.

The pose was based on a cover by Sal Buscema from 1971.
