Spectacular Spider-Men #1 pg 13 by Humberto Ramos, 2024 -- Peter, Miles and various coffee house characters

Spectacular Spider-Men #4 came out last week, and I was able to pick up three great pages from that issue. But before I post them, I wanted to post the remaining pages from issue #1 that I have been saving up.

These three pages feature subplots and supporting characters that will bear fruit later in the story.

Like page 11 which I also posted tonight, this page also takes place in the coffee house, where Kenny Kong and Shelly Conklin are working. Cedric Harrison does a little flirting with Shelly, who politely tells him to shove off cuz she is with Kenny (who gives her a bear hug).

This is perhaps the most significant page in the issue (at least as far as foreshadowing goes), as Cedric notices a flyer on the wall, which proclaims:

GET PAID TO BETA TEST A NEW, SPECTACULAR, SENSATIONAL, AMAZING, ULTIMATE ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE --- NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.

See what they did there with the adjectives? Guess they couldn't include "WEB OF."

Anyway, this seemingly harmless 'beta test' figures significantly in the story later when the two behind-the-scenes villains are eventually revealed.
