Description

Here is The Phantom, a.k.a. "The Ghost Who Walks," a hero who resides in Africa, but who was created in 1936 by Lee Falk, an American, and is illustrated in this instance by another American, Dick Giordano. The original art for this page comes from a story that appeared in PHANTOM # 1347, circa 2003, printed by Frew Publishing in Australia. The plot seems to center on a character very similar to, and likely inspired by, The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh, a hero/villain created by English novelist Russell Thorndike. The story was subsequently reprinted in a comic printed in Sweden, with all dialogue and captions translated into Swedish! Have fun reading it. Note that the page is signed by Dick Giordano at the bottom.
