DescriptionKevin Maguire is the master of expressions, which was a big reason JLI was such a favorite of mine back in the day. The reaction on characters' faces added to the punchline, often making a dialogue-less panel or page so much fun. In 2020, DC asked Maguire to do head shots of 50 different characters that were in those stories for this collection. But not any old "roll call" heads we see in corner boxes... but each with their own expressive style that Maguire is a master.Do you have a favorite? Mine may be Power Girl, who looks like she's reacting to something Booster Gold just said (and several other characters, like Blue Beetle, couldn't believe it either). Can't name all 50? Don't worry, I missed a few too. But I confirmed them all and included a grid in the additional photos. 21.5" x 16.75" Social/Sharing |
