DescriptionAnother checked off the list! If you haven’t read the Vision…do it. One of the best reads of the last 10 years. Wanna enjoy, think, feel, all that and then some?! Get to it.And I got my page! A “quieter” scene, like many are in this book, around the dinner table. But don’t confuse quiet with idleness…the emotions, few words, and expressions speak volumes. The family is trying (key word – “trying”) to take some solace, some positivity, in this brief moment. All too brief. The word “good” is used 7 times on this page…but it’s clear things aren’t. Walta’s less rendered work in terms of line work detail, but more rendered in terms of grey tones, fit the tone of the story perfectly. And the storytelling…top notch. Not easy to do with so many quieter moments like this. Very happy to have this page from the Eisner winning run, AND with the script and Walta’s layouts on a separate page alongside (see in additional images). Thanks, again, RR – you da man! The quieter pages are where it's at from this book. Great, solemn page with the family.

Congrats KG! One of the most poignant books of recent times - and it’s all about family. This page has got it going on.

A very emotional and beautifully drawn page. I remember reading the first few issues of the series and finding the Vision family very intriguing, but I didn't get very far. I definitely need to go back and resume where I left off. Great add, K!

Tom King and Gabriel Hernandez Walta created a real modern masterpiece with this maxiseries. They have been able to create one of the most emational and "human" versions of The Vision. GHW' perfect tecnique allows him to make this sensitivity rendering. This page shows everything. That is superb!

Totally agree, Toni. The Vision wants a "normal" life with a "normal" family. Is that possible? And what does "normal" mean for a synthezoid family? One thing was clear, though, and is in this page, despite the Vision's oft more stoic expressions vs his family members...they care for other.
Glad you like. Thanks, man, and all, for the comments!

12 issues start to finish, David - I'd strongly recommend checking it out. Don't set aside the curiosity, lean into it :) And yes, was an unexpected bonus to have the thumbnail layouts with the script. Always love seeing process stuff. Thanks for the add!

Another testament to your spectacular taste and unceasing efforts to round out your outstanding collection with gorgeous pieces, K. A Walta page showcasing Vis, Viv, and Virginia?!? Awesome. The gorgeous washes create a richness and depth here that perfectly convey the emotional resonance and darker undercurrent of the scene, like an odd, augmented chord that was scored to play beneath this "simple" family scene... Viv's grief and concern is palpable in panel two. Beautiful work. Congrats, K!

So much emotion in these "robots". Great series. I love the depth Walta brings to characters and backgrounds in this page, lacking action on the surface. I'll have to post my Vision page soon!

That's right, Tony...that oxymoron...robot emotion. And another...the thunderous silence of the scene. Appreciate the add, man, and yes - post that page so we can all take a gander!
