DescriptionElektra: The Movie #1 Pg. 43 & 44Pencils by Mike Perkins Inks by Drew Hennessy (Andrew Hennessy) Written by Sean McKeever This seemed like another appropriate piece to post this week, for some reason... While not the greatest film in the world by any means, the Elektra movie starring Jennifer Gardner released in January of 2005 is still an important moment in history for the character. The official movie adaptation comic for the film was released by Marvel Comics a few weeks before the movie in the last week of December, 2004. The creative team was Sean McKeever (writer), Mike Perkins (penciller), and Drew Hennessy (inker). These are 2 of the better pages in the book with Elektra in action and although I've classified it as a Double Page Spread I guess technically they are 2 separate pages, but all done on 1 art board. Special shoutout and thanks to Ruben, whom without these pages would not be in my collection. Thank you thank you buddy!! ;-) Social/Sharing |

I like your bracelet, by the way. Do you know what those are? Here. They're anal beads. They're from Indonesia. Centuries ago, you had to be the best gigolo in your village to earn them.

The more I learn about your backstory, the more I understand how the "leg" injury "really" happened.

Awesome piece! I remember watching the movie in theaters and thinking it was ok. Not great but still enjoyable.

This book was neither Perkins' nor Hennessy's best work by any stretch of the imagination, but what most people don't know is that this was one of the very first projects they were assigned when they left CrossGen for Marvel and they were given an absolutely ridiculous deadline in order to finish it, something like a couple of weeks or so. Even working crazy amounts of hours per day, every day, the only way they felt the deadline was doable was if Mike pencilled each page at half size, two story pages to each board, which is why the pages look like this. So it was an incredible rush job, hence why it's far from their strongest effort. But when the craziness of the deadline is taken into account, it's actually astounding that they were still able to hit the deadline at all! Anyway, you're welcome, enjoy it.

Very cool that you got back to back pages from the movie adaptation! Always fun as a fan of the charater. The Natchios collection grows! Congrats, K!

My love must be a kind of blind love
I can't see anyone but Pool
(Sha bop sha bop)
(Sha bop sha bop)
(Sha bop sha bop)
(Sha bop sha bop)
(Sha bop sha bop)
Artwork stars out tonight (sha bop sha bop)
I don't know in this movie she fights (sha bop sha bop)
I only have sais for you dear
(Sha bop sha bop)
The moon leads to thighs
(Sha bop sha bop)
But I can't see (sha bop sha bop) a thing when I'm blind
I only close eyes for you
I don't know if we're in a Perkins
Or in a crowd that's inked by Drew
(Sha bop sha bop)
You are here
(Sha bop sha bop)
And throwing Sai
(Sha bop sha bop)
Maybe millions of people (sha bop sha bop) go buy
But they all disappear from Rube-
-en I only have sais for you

I mean, those last two lines are absolute GENIUS. Better lyrics may never have been written!

A great representation for a character recently remembered. Nice to see her alive and in action here.
