Description

From now on, in my gallery, Friday shall be known as "Fred Friday."

Earlier this year I went on a bit of a "Fred Hembeck sketch card binge." I just couldn't help myself! Everyone warned me. "Be careful, Paul" they said. "Fred's art is addictive." But did I listen?

I started with one character cards ... then I went to two ... then full teams. Marvel! DC! Vertigo! Valiant! Even freakin' Charlton Comics! Each type of card was a gateway drug to the next one!

My mania has died down for now, but the beast could awaken at any moment. In the meantime I get to share these wonderful gems with you all, one or two each Friday for a while.

I love the way Hembeck drew Doc with that horny look on his face, but with a sly deviousness that implies he's going to drop a roofie into her drink in order to have his way with her.

Doctor Strange looks like a perv with those devious eyes and sly smile! Really nice that Hembeck shows that his legs are scrawny compared to Clea's.
