Playing catch-up with my Spectacular Spider-Men posts, as issue #6 just came out.
Tonight I'm excited to share two splash pages from issue #4.

As issue #4 begins, Peter and Miles are deeply entrenched in their fantasy lives (courtesy of villains Arcade and Mentallo) where everything is rosy and romantic.

Peter is with Gwen and their two perfect kids, Aunt May is with George Stacy, Miles is with Kamala ...

But on the previous page to this one, Miles' clone Shift appears out of nowhere and (in a fairly grisly way) shows Miles that Kamala is just a robot.

Two pages previously, Peter realized that his Parker luck would never allow him to be so happy.

So, on THIS splash page, Peter and Miles BOTH exclaim "THIS ISN'T REAL!!"

I love the half Peter/half Miles face. In Spidey books, that effect is normally used to make a half Peter/half Spidey face. So this is pretty cool.

So different, yet so much the same with their experiences and their sense of responsibility! It takes a veteran artist like Ramos to put this scene together with confidence!

Very cool!!! First time I've seen this regularly used Spidey trope to do a combined Peter and Miles face instead of half Spidey half Peter or something similar.
