My first original art purchased in 2024 was a really fun personal treat for me.

This page by Kieron Dwyer & Joe Rubinstein was one of two pages from the back-up story "Family Ties" featured in Star Brand #14 that I acquired at the same time, and features the wonderfully sick & horrific creature that came to be known later as "The FamiLeech". This page contains a great half-splash panel of the first full appearance of the creature that was once a family who, despite being rescued from the depths of the PITT of destruction that was formerly the city of Pittsburgh in the New Universe imprint, were all infected by the Star Brand infused morass of liquid remnants and turned into this disgustingly creepy amalgamated paranormal entity.

As a horror fan in general, I always loved this bizarre creature - it is equal parts disturbing and disgusting in concept. As a teen I was absolutely horrified by the idea of it. As an adult I am thrilled to own some of the original artwork from a story that I read countless times over the years.
