It's soo good, right? His work is really inspiring to me, especially so from this series :) 

And yes, he definitely used that Laocoön sculpture specifically for reference - he told me so himself back when I purchased this cover! (I didn't purchase the piece directly from him, but I was communicating with him at the time and shared that I had acquired it )

The most distressing thing about all those scratchy lines is that they are literally, physical scratches through the artwork - carved right in to the paper. Very effective, and yet very destructive as well!

*Incredible* collection of art from War Child, man! It's also one of my all-time-most-favourite comics. I can see why I've had so much trouble tracking down any art from the series, haha!

Very cool page - nice half-splash image on the top. Lee Weeks art from this series seems to be tough to find.

Congrats on landing this page!! When I was a kid I used to draw Robotman over and over from a few key images throughout Steve Lightle's issues of DP, and this was a prime page that inspired me. I was very tempted to buy it when it came up for sale last year, but you got there ahead of me :) 

My mistake - one of the characters had already died by this issue, so it's just 5 of them on there... and I had meant to specify that they're all there in costume (the cover of #2 had the full team but they were not in costumes yet!)

Strikeforce Morituri is definitely one of the best hidden gem series of the 80's. I am a massive fan of it to this day. Congrats on scoring a really great cover - one of only 4 that features the full original line-up too! I was one of the losing bidders on this when it surfaced recently. Glad to see it went to another fan :)
