DescriptionAmidst all the recent craziness with Peter Parker turning into the SPIDER-GOBLIN -- and Norman once again becoming the GREEN GOBLIN with all his evil plans -- and the SINISTER SIX also in the mix -- a rebel alliance formed with Ms Marvel, Doc Connors, J Jonah Jameson, the Walking Brain ... and Doug.At this point in the story, the Walking Brain decided that their team needed their own Spider-Man. Enter America's favorite wall-walkin', web-whanging, goofy & loveable REK-RAP -- reporting for duty! Besides being excited to post another Rek-Rap page, I'm also thrilled to introduce a new artist to my REK-RAP gallery -- the super talented Todd Nauck. He's also a really great guy. Thanks, Todd, for this one! Social/Sharing |

Okay, maybe you'll get a kick out of this or maybe you won't. When I saw your name on the latest updates list, I immediately clicked on your gallery. I didn't have my glasses on and I saw the thumbnail of this splash and thought, cool, that's a great splash of Beast from X-Men. Then I put my glasses on and realized, oh, it's only Rek-Rap. LOL!
Who did the inks on this, Todd? Really beautiful job. I may actually like this better than many of your McGuinness Rek-Raps (but don't tell Ed I said that). Anyway, congrats on yet another Rek-Rap gem.

Hahaha I can totally see how a blurry Rek-Rap might look very much like Beast. Same build, same big feet. Thanks for the comment!

I only now just realized Rek-Rap is Parker spelled backwards.

You got it! That goes way back to his origins as a sort of Bizarro version of Spider-Man who often gets things backwards.

Holy crap, talk about making splash! Always happy to see him return and boy, is this ever a return! I could be wrong, but back in the 90's I don't think Nauck typically inked himself. This is quite a beautifully drawn page. Not just Rek-Rap, but the backgrounds are fantastic as well. Cheers!

It's Nauck for you, babe, I couldn't find no more
Couldn't even Rek the floor
I'd be Rap and blue, it's Nauck for you.
If Nauck's for you, Pauly, I'd stay awake all night
Praise all the inking tight
To shine him through
But he will not be new Limbo to you.
It's Nauck for you, web lines would fall, inks would gather pool
With Parker love I'd read Zeb Wells to all
I'd be lost if Nauck's not cool
And you know it's true.

Todd poured a lot into this one, too! Great line work, subsequent detail, and inks! Definitely looks like he did it up for his first big splash reveal of the character. Nice add to the collection, Paul, and clearly in the right collection :) "Web-whanging" lol.
