DescriptionA poignant wordless page shows the aftermath of a hate-fueled fire-bombing. Renate’s father runs out of his arson-ravaged store but is gunned down by a skinhead who then flees. The flashback ends and we return to Martin and Renate driving down.. “Highway R352, Russia, today.” “They were not easy years, I imagine.” “No. Attacks and terror were the order of the day.” “I'm sorry. Are you tired? Do you want us to relieve you?” “No, thank you, that's not necessary. Sorry if I seem absent. But it's not easy to think back to those days.” “No problem.” Renate clearly has plenty of reason to hate the skinheads who have been tormenting her during this story. Highway R352 is in central Russia, near the provincial capital city of Yekaterinburg whose airport our heroes have been using in this issue. Social/Sharing |
