Description

I picked this up from eBay a good while ago, back when I barely owned any Moy art at all. While finding Jeff Moy's art in the "wild" is rare enough, finding character sketches by Phil is even more rare, so I was very happy to pick this one up!

While Spark is Jeff's favourite Legionnaire to draw, Triad is Phil's. I really enjoy his use of different line weights, and the way he incorporated highlights for her hair, lips, and eyes without the use of a white gel pen.

Very good year in 1998! It was a different world back then and the eBay flip was still new, so sketches were still being made for the fans. Like it or not, it did make the art accessible to more fans and raised the value of sketches for more artists' work to where we are today.

I do regret that I was in no position to get con sketches back in the '90s, when prices were lower because flipping wasn't as prevalent. Happily for everyone involved, this piece only went up on eBay a year or two ago, so there was no flippery involved, here!
