DescriptionI guess Rek-Rap shouldn't have tried to kiss the Green Goblin on the previous page, because it ends up pissing him off in a big way. So much so that he aims his weaponized goblin glider at Rek-Rap and leaps out of the way at the last second so that Rek-Rap is ... IMPALED!!Oh nooooooooooooooooooooooo!! Is this the death of Rek-Rap?? Ms Marvel certainly thinks so! And how ironic if he is killed the same way Norman was killed in Amazing Spider-Man #122! But ... come on! I mean, this is Rek-Rap, people! He's too silly to die, right? I mean, upon being impaled, his reaction is to say "Cool." (He's always so optimistic!) But believe me, when I read this page, I was pretty worried. When a new character is introduced these days, it seems like Marvel's natural instinct is to play with them for a while and then kill them off ... and then resurrect them of course. Kill, resurrect, rinse & repeat. But still ... So I will leave you all wondering .... is the loveable big-footed Bizarro Spidey really, gulp, dead?? Of course, if you read the whole story arc, you already know ... But if you didn't ... stay tuned! One more issue (#54) to go! Social/Sharing |

No way he's done with a response like "Cool!" after being impaled! Fun spin on GG's "death" way back when '73. Nauck really doing his thing on ASM here. Congrats, Paul!

A classic homage on back to back pages? Rek-Rap seems like he's all powerful. Marvel needs to have him kill Thanos and make him the biggest, baddest villain in the universe. That would ensure we'd get Rek-Rap in an upcoming Marvel movie!

Not since the death of Gwen Stacy has the Spider-verse been so affected. Tragic.

If Rek-Rap does truly die the "non-comic" death, I'll be on the first plane to Florida to help you pick up the emotional pieces. I'm here for you, buddy.

Noooooo....say it ain't so!!!...
I'm not sure I'll be able to catch up on the whole ASM volume before you do your next post revealing whether he survived or not lol but that's ok.
Great artwork - the reaction on Ms. Marvel's face makes me fear the worst for Rek-Rap

I know! It's a tragedy! Or not... haha! You have a little time to do some reading, as I have a few posts to do before I reveal Rek-Rap's fate. And if you read ASM vol 6 17-18, ASM 36-38 and ASM 50-53, you'll be all caught up with Rek-Rap's back story and misadventures up to this momentous moment. Homework!! Lol

Without reading it I already know the answer. No one dies in comics, unless you count cancellation due to unpopularity. Death by lost readers. All else is rewriteable and redrawable.

That makes me think of the Friends episode where Chandler couldn't cry. Joey asks, You didn't cry when Bambi's mother died? And Chandler says yes, it was very sad when they stopped drawing the deer.
