DescriptionFantastic Four #14 (Vol. 3) Pg. 9 SplashPencils by Salvador Larroca Inks by Art Thibert Written by Chris Claremont More 90s art! This time back to Marvel, from Fantastic Four volume 3, written by Chris Claremont with art by Salvador Larroca and Art Thibert - released in 1998. This issue was the first appearance of Bounty, and this is her 2nd ever page after she appears. I'll admit that when I first saw this page, 2 things appealed to me. First, I love great silhouette pages/art and this is all about that. Second, at first I thought it was Elektra on the page, haha. But then I saw the guns instead of sais or swords, and started to wonder what exactly I was looking at. Some quick research on the issue on my phone later (and a cheap price for the page at NJ Comic Art Con), and I ended up walking away with it in my portfolio. I also am a big fan of Art Thibert's inking, being a big Ultimate Spider-Man fan and collector, so there were several things about this page I connected with. As mentioned this issue is the 1st appearance of Bounty, who is a renowned interdimensional bounty hunter character with a secret identity. Her first birth panel appearance is on the page before this (added that to additional images) and then she appears in the full splash following it, which art-wise is 100% done in silhouette. A minor first appearance but still cool for the price. The final published/colored image of the splash has a lot more going on as far as lettering and sound effects within the splash page design (also in additional images), but the original art itself was done minimalistic like this focusing on the full figure silhouette. It's amazing how much information a silhouette image can contain ! Wonderful inks by Art Thibert who is one of my favorites also!

Not normally a fan of Larocca but I like how he chooses to make this splash a silhouette.

Super effective silhouette splash introducing the character! Like a lot of others, I couldn't help but think "Frank Miller". Also cool to see all the colors and lettering surrounding the figure in the published image! Congrats, man!

Larroca regrets are all you left on Fantastic claims
Take a picture of our Thibert in that display
We had our Thing, I used to light your Flame
Like the Invisible that rose we tried to find our page
No one told me, she’s Bounty
Your love's like one last silhouette, last silhouette
I will savor it, the splash silhouette
Take it in and hold your Stretch
Hope the Kill Her! ends but when it's gone, it's gone
The first silhouette
Just to breathe reminds me of that VIP

The Bounty I remember was also curvy, but chocolaty and filled with coconut. But looking at this Bounty, I gotta say that they are both quite delicious! An easy squirrel buy if there ever was one. Miller-esque to the max!

Bounty is a Canadian delicacy. Stop teasing the Americans.

Yeah, I realized that after I posted the comment. Our fine, American friends would be more familiar with Bounty by the name Mounds! Thought I have to say, I love Mounds' partner, Almond Joy even better.

Great silhouette. Has a bit of a Miller feel to it as well. Cool pickup!

Such a striking silhouette image! So nice when you can pick up a great piece without breaking the bank, right?
