Always a pleasure to see Walt and Weezie at a convention! I missed an opportunity to get a sketch from Walt at Terrificon this year, as his lines were extremely long every day. But at Baltimore I made getting a sketch from Walt a priority! I had to wait in line for 6 hours, as he had a panel to attend in the afternoon, but I was able to get famed marker number on my thumb name by Walt to ensure my place in line for later in the day. It was worth the wait, just to talk to Walt for a few minutes, and get a sketch of his signature character! And thank you to my friends in line behind me who lent me a foldable chair to sit in line with! My ever-aging legs and back thank you!!!

It never ceases to amaze me what some fans are willing to put up with to get a quick marker head sketch. Six hours in line?!? I love it, but damn!

Six hours is brutal. But the guy is 78 years old and still stays in mediocre hotels year-round to make fans happy. Grateful for Simonson's, Staton's, Garcia-Lopez's, Chaykin's, and Fradon's (RIP) for staying on the road for the fans - it helps balance out the many artists passing far too young.
