The brisk pacing comes from the crisp linework that is perfect for the quick and fun Spider-Boy adventure!
I love the level of finish in the pencils, which is about where pencillers would stop right up until the 1980's, as it would be open enough for the inkers to not only ad their own stylistic flair to the finishes, but also loose enough for inkers to fix and redraw mistakes or any badly drawn areas before applying the inks. Of course, even though pencilling tightly became far more common from the 1990's onward, in this case it isn't necessary since Stockman is his own inker.
