DescriptionI was lucky enough to grab the complete interior artwork for a fun 10-page back-up story from Superior Spider-Man #1 (late 2023).Tonight I am posting pages 1-3. The artist is the talented Nathan Stockman, an extremely nice guy who has become a very good friend. This story takes place back when Doc Ock was inhabiting Peter Parker's body and running around as the Superior Spider-Man. Spider-Boy had not yet been forgotten by everyone and was actually Spider-Man's sidekick. This story pits them against each other in a very interesting & dramatic way. Other characters featured in the story are Mr. Negative & his Inner Demon PLUS the 2013 Fantastic Four team of Ant-Man, She-Hulk, Medusa and She-Thing. Social/Sharing |

The brisk pacing comes from the crisp linework that is perfect for the quick and fun Spider-Boy adventure!

I love the level of finish in the pencils, which is about where pencillers would stop right up until the 1980's, as it would be open enough for the inkers to not only ad their own stylistic flair to the finishes, but also loose enough for inkers to fix and redraw mistakes or any badly drawn areas before applying the inks. Of course, even though pencilling tightly became far more common from the 1990's onward, in this case it isn't necessary since Stockman is his own inker.
