DescriptionSomething is wrong with the trees. So happy to see Mike Perkins on another Swamp Thing book... and a Swamp Thing, Poison Ivy team-up story... does it get any better? One of the many things I enjoy about Perkins' art is that, whether it's a cover, splash, or panel page, the art is almost always wall-to-wall. And look at the faces! Their expressions are fantastic. Perkins + Swamp Thing is always going to be a no-brainer for me. Social/Sharing |

The story aspect is very cool! It's Swamp Thing not caring now because it's a human behind the disturbance in the Green. He's willing to let Ivy take care of it being it's a human issue. The wash is great by Perkins to create the spooky atmosphere that the character needs to thrive.

A very fine example of illustrative, comic book excellence! Pencils, inks and wash tones all coalesce to bring the setting and characters to life. Everything feels so organic and the shadow play is so outstanding, it only serves to emphasize the power of the characters' facial expressions and emotions! Nice choice, Brian. Fyi, CAF highlighted this page today.

I saw! First page I've had featured anywhere on CAF as far as I'm aware. :)

I love the close ups on the bottom left of Swamp Thing and Ivy. Really at odds with each other the whole issue, coming to head here.
