When Rom was released in 1979, I had zero interest in the comic, as it was based on a toy, and I was at an age when I was no longer interested in action figures. However, in late 1980, I bought issue 14 and liked it so much that I convinced my mom to pay for a subscription to Rom. My subscription ran from issue 16 through around 69. I did continue buying issues through the end of the series.
