Description
Jeff Moy had a second claim show on the CAL YouTube channel back in August, and I was once again lucky enough to snag a few pages! This was the first of the bunch - you know I couldn't pass up a page with Andromeda on it! - and it's also the page immediately after the other page I have from issue 23. This is the esteemed "Girls' Night Out" issue, though you wouldn't know it from looking at Andromeda, who's still wearing her regular Legion uniform as she chases after the gang who attacked an alien bystander on the previous page. It's a great character page for poor Andy, who's still pretty early on in her arc of character growth, and still very standoffish and disparaging towards her fellow teammates after being drafted into the Legion. You might think her springing into action to apprehend the gang is a good sign that she's warming up to her duties as a Legionnaire - and you'd be right - but the moment doesn't last long when she realizes these thugs are followers of the White Triangle, which is the xenophobic Daxamite sect (read: cult) that Andy grew up in. It rattles her enough that she ends up letting them go instead of apprehending them, but she'll come to regret it when they end up attacking Triad in the next issue. I like that Andy's Legion flight ring is featured so prominently in the first panel. It might just be a coincidence, but it's like a little reminder that her better nature - and her place in the Legion - is at war with her xenophobic upbringing, here.

With all that Legion Lore aside, now we can get into the art, which is just fantastic, as always! Moy and Carani never fail to deliver. There's lots of action lines on this page, but they never feel cluttered or confusing, and that action shot of Andy in the first panel is beautifully dynamic (which is impressive, considering only half of her is visible!). Overall, Andromeda appeared in relatively few issues of the Reboot Legion, so it's great to have a page that features her and her story so prominently.

Those editors are just as angry about the Red Lines as the White Triangle are about aliens.  As usual, the Jeffery Moy characters know where to go in the 31st century to get the best perms.

You know, I've always thought that since Andromeda's the biggest Legionnaire (height-wise AND power-wise!), it's only fitting that she has the biggest hair to match!
