DescriptionLatest Golden Age Team-Up Project commission - The Brave & The Bold issue #252, teaming Batman with Minute-Man, adapted from Ron Lim's cover to Captain America #379, as reimagined by Bambos Georgiou.July 1945 - and when the newly-inaugurated President Truman discovers that Marshall Josef Stalin will be accompanied to the Potsdam Conference by the Russian super-soldier Stalnoivolk, he asks Batman to attend as a representative of the All-Star Squadron. So it is that - after a flight via Newfoundland, Greenland and the British Isles - the Batplane lands in Germany, to be met by a cohort of American soldiers who escort the Gotham Guardian to the recently-arrived President and his entourage. One of the soldiers is familiar to Batman, but he keeps his counsel... All is quiet at the Conference for the first few days, but Batman's attempts to find common ground with Stalnoivolk come to nothing. However, things rapidly change when the representatives of the US, the Soviet Union and Great Britain are targeted - by an attack by die-hard SS fanatics, led by the super-powered Captain Nazi! Allied soldiers are able to tackle the Nazi assault force, but Captain Nazi is another matter altogether, and Batman attempts to fend him off - and is joined by Private Jack Weston, who sheds his GI uniform and dons the costume of Minute-Man to battle alongside the Caped Crusader! However, as neither Batman nor Minute-Man have any super-powers, Captain Nazi shrugs off their attack, and renews his charge towards President Truman, Marshall Stalin and their staff! Only when the villain poses a direct threat to the Russian Premier does Stalnoivolk get involved, tackling Captain Nazi, and using his super-strength to trade blows with him. Meanwhile, Batman and Minute-Man recover, and rush the President and Marshall Stalin away from the battle, before returning to join their ally in combat. As they do so, Captain Nazi lands a blow which knocks Stalnoivolk unconscious, and turns his attention to the two American heroes! Recognisising that they are substantially outmatched, Minute-Man leaps on board a nearby tank, which he drives headling at the Nazi villain - only for his foe to stop the tank in it's tracks! While Captain Nazi is thus occupied, Batman snatches all his gas bombs from his utility belt, and hurls them at his foe - and the villain is temporarily staggered, but not knocked out! With the Allied leaders nowhere to be seen, Captain Nazi changes his focus and targets the heroes, throwing chumnks of rubble towards them, which they are barely able to avoid. As Batman distracts the villain, Minute-Man rushes to revive Stalnoivolk, who - although still groggy - joins the fight, and the three heroes lure Captain Nazi further away from the conference site. A whispered conversation between the two Americans results in them leading the villain towards an ammunition dump and, at a critical moment, Batman and Minute-Man distract Captain Nazi's attention for long enough to allow Stalnoivolk to punch the villain directly into the munitions store - and Batman (although bluffing) threatens to trigger the explosives which surround him! When Captain Nazi fails to fall for the bluff, however, he starts to charge towards the heroes - ony for Stalnoivolk to snatch up a tank shell, and hurl it at the munitions store, setting off an enormous explosion which engulfs the villain. Batman and Minute-Man are caught at the fringes of the blast - and when they recover their senses, Captain Nazi appears to have perished, and Stalnoivolk has returned to Stalin's side. The two American heroes lament the fact that, even in an era of total war, it seems not to have been possible to capture Captain Nazi and have him stand trial - and rejoin President Truman, hoping only that the Conference can reach an amicable settlement for the post-war world. Next time - a mystic menace, and a magical co-star! Social/Sharing |

Very cool that both logos are getting jumbled up in this as opposed to just one! The power levels are out of their league!
