Description

Bellerophon's great deed was the slaying of the Chimera, a fire-breathing monster with the body of a goat, the head of a lion and the tail of a serpent. He did this by lodging a piece of lead into its throat. This was melted by the Chimera's fire breath, choking it.

I bought this drawing directly from Carlos when I was in Buenos Aires. This is small - about 5"x7" - but packs in a lot of detail. I'm even more impressed since Carlos told me that he was self-taught.

This belongs in an artbook or a textbook as it could pass for a classical work done centuries ago to celebrate the legends and early culture of western civilization.
