Description
Every year Heritage has a charity auction for the Ed Asner Family Center and they usually post the lots several weeks before hand. So I had plenty of time to look at this piece over and over. Each time I realized that I loved it a little more as I noticed the tiny details like the Phoenix symbol on Jean's socks or the graphitti below the fence that says "Professor X is a Jerk!" I assume an allusion to Uncanny X-Men #168 when Kitty was demoted to being with the New Mutants. And of course lets not forget that baseball seems to the team sport of choice for the X-Men

I kept in touch with those guys over the years and I found out that Kitty's parents had shipped her off to New Mutants School. After the New Mutants, she became one of the pioneering developers of Excalibur. Of course, we all know why.  Illyana, well... Illyana got really into the Limbo and no one ever saw her again. Scott and Jean became a Cyclops and a Phoenix. They started out small, designing danger room equipment and prefabricated Hellfire Clubs. But they became multimillionaires when they invented... X-Factor. Gambit grew up and married Rogue. They have 9 kids. They bought Magneto's Asteroid M and they still own it to this day. Hank McCoy became a professional wrestler. You know him as "Frasier Crane".  Storm played Triple A ball, but she never got to the majors. She owns her own business now and he coaches a little league team that her sons play on called, "The Morlocks". Lockheed lived to be 199 years old... uh, in dragon years. I was the last one to move away. But when I did, Xavier's Sandlot was still there. After Wolvie tickled the Beast, his reputation spread all over town. From then on, he was known as, "Logan 'The Wolverine' Howlett" and the nickname stuck with him for the rest of his life.
