WHAT IF? #7 pg.2-3 DPS 1989 - WOLVERINE vs. HULK vs. WENDIGO w/ UATU by Valentino / Liefeld / Williams

Huge shout out to John (JN 80) for this piece. He knew I was after Wolverine examples from the original 7 Image Comics founders. After my recent Erik Larsen pickup, the only one left was Jim Valentino (who has very few published Wolverines). One of the few examples on CAF was this awesome Liefeld/Williams DPS that Jim provided the layouts for. To my surprise, John reached out to see if I'd be interested in buying it. A few days later, it was in my collection!

Great depiction of the initial battle between Wolverine, Hulk and Wendigo (though Wolverine sports his revised costume). Some interesting shading techniques to suggest a backlit setting sun. They decided to go with a cleaner look (I'm guessing to not obscure some of the line details) and then add back a few shadows with Tom' Vincent's colors.
