Description

This is a test/pitch page for a never-published project. Apparently it was given the green light by Marvel, but Matt Hebb became sick with a serious illness and was unable to complete the work.

I tend to lean more toward published art, but I saw this and it immediately made me smile. I've seen the other test pages in Matt's online portfolio and, before this scene, it's made clear that Rhino expects to be running Spider-Man into/through the wall. We can see that it doesn't quite work out for him. I think the more "cartoony" style of these drawings really lends itself to the humor of this page. Matt did a great job and I'm sorry this story was never published.

Could it have been for the "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" comic that came out last week that is the intro to next year's animated series? It really has a breezy fun style.

I haven't read it and I'm not certain... but I'd be surprised. I think this was done a while ago. (Still trying to find out exactly when.)
